Storytelling Sessions in Early Childhood Centres

I love nothing more than sitting with little ones and pulling them into a world of imagination. My storytelling sessions are full of silly voices, big feelings, curious questions, and moments where tamariki get to help bring the story alive. Whether it’s a Playcentre morning, a SPACE group, or a busy ECE room, we read, we giggle, we wonder, and we explore. It’s storytime with heart — gentle, playful, and made for helping little minds light up.

School visits are pure magic. I share my stories, talk about where ideas come from, and show students that writing isn’t scary — it’s just imagining with a pencil. We build characters together, dream up wild story ideas, and have lots of laughs along the way. It’s relaxed, encouraging, and all about helping kids see that their stories matter. Everyone leaves feeling a little more creative and a lot more confident.

I love popping up at community events — book fairs, art festivals, markets, you name it. I bring my books, my stories, and all the behind-the-scenes bits of how a book is made. Kids (and adults!) can ask anything, listen to a story, and connect with me. It’s cosy, friendly, chatty, and always full with laughter and funny moments. My goal? To make storytelling feel fun, possible, and for everyone.
